Looking Forward to NaNoWriMo
National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) begins next month already. It’s a challenge for writers to begin a new story and write 50,000 words in 30 days. This year, I hope to see and encourage more writers through this challenge than ever before. Martin McConnell over at Write, Farm, Live came up with a plan to call on authors to join together and help inspire and motivate anyone daring to take on the NaNoWriMo challenge. He calls this project NaNoInspo.
Martin has created a mailing list that will send out bits of inspiration throughout November. Whether you’re planning on participating in NaNoWriMo or not, there will be great writing tips and motivational posts to ignite your creativity and jumpstart your writing. And if you plan on participating, there are great prizes being offered for anyone who is on the mailing list and completes the challenge. Find out more information and join the mailing list by heading over to the NaNoInspo page, or clicking on the NaNoInspo logo above.
It’s worth mentioning that I’m part of the NaNoInspo team, and I have a few encouraging posts prepared for next month. I look forward to cheering on anyone who is participating in this challenge.
I’m not sure if I’ll be participating as yet (I always wait until the last minute to decide), but I look forward to your posts.
Thank you. And I know what you mean. I haven’t been in a place in my projects to participate in NaNoWriMo for several years. One year, I should try to hit the goal of writing 50,000 words in the month without the requirement of it being a new book or even just one story. That way I can work on the pieces I have going without trying to throw a new project into the mix.
You’re welcome, Mandie! On my end, I don’t think I’m dedicated to writing as before, but if an idea comes along, I might be willing to work with it. All the best with your project!
NaNoInspo sounds like an awesome project! Good for you for joining it! 😀
You’re a glutton for punishment, Mandie. I’ll be lucky to write 3,000 words in November. 🙂
Haha I think I’ll be more of a spectator or cheerleader this time around. Although, I keep thinking maybe I should try to reach the word count, but not limit it to a single project or a new book. I’ll have to see how things look when November gets here. I’ll certainly be rooting for other writers to complete the challenge though!
