Poem: Liquid Memories
Sometimes when I think of you,
the mere thought
clenches my throat,
springs liquid memories
to my eyes,
tightens around my
stomach, and reveals
a gaping hole where my heart
once beat.
All I wanted was to hear your voice.
I wanted to remember your laughing eyes,
your throaty chuckle,
and the accent of your words.
But it turns out itβs a lie.
I donβt want to remember any of it.
I want to experience it again,
and when I realize I canβt,
the memories fall from my eyes.
This is such a beautiful piece! I was going to pick out one favorite line, but it all flows so well together, it was hard to pick just one line. π So very well done!
Thank you! π
You’re very welcome! π
Magnificent writing, Mandie! Every line was well done and evoked the emotion you wanted to display wonderfully.
Thank you. I appreciate that.
You’re utmost welcome, my friend!
