Dusty Poems 14
The poem below is from the Dusty Poems series, a collection of poems that I wrote many years ago, long before I knew how much of a force poetry would be in my life. I’ve enjoyed going through these old poems that contain a completely different voice and style than how I write poetry now, but have been interesting to reflect on.
I can feel the tension in my mind
Heartbeat for heartbeat
Line for line
Flowing through my steady hand
All the shaking I just canβt stand
Pouring out my restless soul
Over and over I pay your toll
Long ago I should have fled
Lying helpless next to you in bed
Rolling over, watching you breathe
Wondering where all of this will lead
I have to catch up on your blog when I get more time. Lately, I’ve been busy with life, but it was refreshing to read your work.
Thank you, Diana! It’s so good to see you stop by!
