Dusty Poems 27

Welcome to the Dusty Poems series where I share poems I wrote back in college. We’re coming down to the last few poems in this series. It has been fun to share these poems and to look back at these old pieces.

Swallow your pride
and close your eyes
It’s time to kiss
this friend goodbye

Forget the tears you haven’t got
Release the grip of what you don’t want
And why has it been that you couldn’t let go
when the person you cling to you no longer know
Stop yourself from hanging on
The loneliness will soon be gone
