Poem: As Anyone
I am different than you
than anyone.
I am uncomfortable in my own skin
of differentness wondering why I can’t
get in line with everyone else.
I am the same as you
as anyone.
I am an echo or cliché
and it’s maddening.
I am not qualified to judge
myself, my image is too distorted
through my eyes to see clearly.
But I don’t desire to be judged
by anyone else
because they only see fragments
of me. Pieces I want them to see
or flashes of overflowing emotion.
And I don’t want to judge you
or anyone
because I know what I see is
as incomplete
as me
as anyone.
